London-based private developer Neptune Group has submitted plans for Neptune Wharf, a mixed-used scheme close to the Olympic Park in east London.
The plans, submitted to the London Legacy Development Corporation, are for as many as 800 homes, 110,000 sq ft of commercial space and a primary school.
The proposed site, within Fish Island, lies immediately to the west of the Olympic Stadium.
Neptune director Patrick Heffron said: "As a company, we committed to Fish Island well ahead of the 2005 Olympic announcement, and we are delighted that, after several years of detailed discussions with the various planningagencies, we now have a policy platform and agreed framework under which the Neptune Wharf scheme can come forward.
"Our proposals provide significant new homes and new employment space, as well as infrastructure to support the wider regeneration of the area. We now expect to see many more privately driven proposals come forward in this exciting Olympic fringe area."
It is hoped that the scheme will receive planning permission early next year.
